Abstract
Wild Turkey is a popular non-migratory game bird that breeds from southern Canada, throughout the 48 contiguous states, south to Mexico, and can also be found in Hawaii. Two of the 6 identified subspecies breed in Florida. M. g. silvestris is found in the panhandle and M. g. osceola is found only in peninsular Florida. These two subspecies look similar; the main differences being M. g. osceola has darker wings and the white barring on the primaries is narrower and irregular.
