Abstract
“Hoodie” is not only a nickname given to a hooded sweatshirt, but to the exquisitely patterned Hooded Merganser by hunters and birders, alike. Mainly piscivores, mergansers differ from most other ducks by having a long, rather narrow bill, serrated along the edges to firmly secure the prey they capture while diving.
