Abstract
Barbara Sorey-Love discusses her upbringing in Clearwater, Florida. She highlights her education at Williams Elementary School and Pinellas High School, and the founding of the Clearwater Heights Reunion Committee. The committees’ efforts led to the investigation of the St. Matthew Negro Cemetery and North Greenwood Cemetery. Barbara highlights the importance of community involvement, the impact of Jim Crow laws, and the ongoing efforts to preserve and honor African American history and cemeteries.
