Abstract
A two-day high school social studies lesson plan analyzing the historical erasure of Moffett Cemetery in St. Petersburg, Florida, during the post–World War II era. Students investigate six newspaper articles from 1953 alongside contextual readings on suburbanization, redlining, and postwar economic growth. Group activities include primary source analysis, stakeholder timelines, and class discussions that connect 1950s development practices to present-day redevelopment plans involving the Tampa Bay Rays stadium site.
