Abstract
This is an oral history interview with Eugenio Rodriguez, longtime resident of Ybor City. His parents, immigrants from Spain, came to Tampa when Rodriguez was a baby. Both Rodriguez and his father were cigar makers, working at several different factories. In this interview, he discusses the cigar trade, the custom of lectors (readers) in factories, and the mutual aid societies.
