Abstract
Oral history interview with Ruth Deike, who grew up in Sulphur Springs, Florida. Deike's family moved to the neighborhood when she was in fourth grade, and she lived there until she married shortly after graduating from high school. As an adult, she lived elsewhere in Florida and out of state, except for one period when she and her husband were separated and she returned to Sulphur Springs to be near her mother. In this interview, she describes the social life and customs of Sulphur Springs, including recreational activities, education, local businesses, food and drink, going to church, and friends.
