Description

The purpose of this project was to analyze the maternal investments of the Pacific Humpback Dolphin in comparison to other large marine mammals. This was completed by using JMP Statistical Software (13.2) to analyze data from multiple sources. It was found that there were limited maternal investment patterns in the Indo-Pacific Humpback Dolphin because they will produce only 3 offspring during their lifetime. Populations are not likely to recover from anthropogenic or natural causes of mortality as well as other cetaceans. The Indo-Pacific Humpback Dolphin is becoming increasingly more threatened as increases in habitat loss and pollution rise.
