ISLAC at the University of South Florida Presented:
The Institute for the Study of Latin America and the Caribbean (ISLAC) at USF in collaboration with the Florida Humanities Council and numerous community sponsors brought together the most prominent international scholars of Hispanic Florida for a two day conference to commemorate Florida's Quincentenary. New research was presented around the following themes:
- Spanish Conquest and Colonization, 1513-1821
- Spanish Florida in the 19th and 20th Centuries
- Trans-Atlantic Studies: Migration, Exile, Diaspora
- Cultural, Social, and Economic Exchange in Florida
- Latin America and Florida: Today and Tomorrow
