Abstract
The excavation of a small site near a large one, such as Mayapán, often adds valuable information, confirmatory, supplementary, or explanatory, to the archaeological findings at its sizable neighbor. And further, a study of the ruins in the immediate environs of Mayapán helps to explain what was going on outside that metropolis during different periods of its occupancy. © 2009 by the University Press of Colorado.
