Call for Papers

The Journal of Tourism Regeneration invites submissions for upcoming issues. As an online, open-access, peer-reviewed publication, we are dedicated to advancing the fields of tourism sustainability and regenerative tourism, with a resolute commitment to fostering meaningful change within the global tourism industry.

Our mission is to champion and promote regenerative practices that prioritise the long-term health of our planet, the resilience of communities, and the preservation of cultural heritage. We seek to reimagine tourism as a transformative force that not only mitigates harm but actively restores and rejuvenates destinations worldwide.

We welcome high-quality, original contributions that explore innovative practices transcending traditional sustainability models. We encourage submissions that include:

  • Empirical research on regenerative tourism practices and sustainable destination management.
  • Case studies highlighting successful implementation of regenerative initiatives in tourism.
  • Theoretical and conceptual papers offering new frameworks and models for regenerative tourism.
  • Policy analyses that provide insights into effective governance and policy approaches supporting sustainable and regenerative tourism.
  • Critical reviews of current practices, innovations, and future directions in the tourism industry.
  • Key topics of interest:

While acknowledging the critical nature of the topic, we encourage papers to present opportunities for hope, regeneration, and the potential for transformation within the tourism sector. Academics and industry representatives are invited to contribute theoretical and empirical research that addresses the implications of their work.

Submission Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit original manuscripts that have not been published elsewhere. Submissions should adhere to the journal's formatting guidelines, available on our website. All papers will undergo a double-blind peer review process.
