Note
The Victory Theatre opened on August 11, 1920 with the vaudeville show "The Brat." At its heyday, it could hold 1600 patrons. It was owned by ABC Theatres, Paramount Pictures, Inc., and finally Florida State Theaters. On Christmas Day 1947, it was renamed the Palace Theatre, renovated by architectural firm Kemp, Bunch, & Jackson. It underwent renovations again in 1962 that reduced seating to 750 in order to accommodate the Cinerama screen and projectors. The theater closed in the mid-1970s, although it was reopened for a few years in the 1970s after the Tampa Theatre was closed. It closed for good on September 29, 1978 and was demolished in December 1979.
