Description
At the Stanford d.school, we develop students’ creative confidence and abilities. An essential ability is that of navigating ambiguity, a skill that can be intangible andelusive for both learners and educators alike. This essential ability involves recognizing and stewing in the discomfort of not knowing, leveraging and embracing parallel possibilities, and resolving or emerging from ambiguity as needed. Navigating ambiguity is essential for both problem-finding and problem-solving, and therefore can be a bridge between critical and creative thinking.In this session, we’ll reflect on how the structure of a learning experience may promote or hinder productive attitudes towards ambiguity. We will then dive in and explore strategies to help students become wayfinders who confidently navigate complex problems. We welcome educators of all disciplines!
