About This Journal

The American Journal of Graduate Mathematics publishes original research in mathematics and its applications. In applications, the journal prioritizes articles concerned with the mathematical analysis of questions originating in physics, engineering, and statistics. Submissions are invited in one or more of the following areas:

  • Algebra
  • Applied Mathematics
  • Combinatorics
  • Complex Analysis
  • Coding Theory
  • Discrete Mathematics
  • Functional Analysis
  • Graph Theory
  • Harmonic Analysis
  • Linear Algebra
  • Mathematical Physics
  • Numerical Analysis
  • Operator Theory
  • Partial Differential Equations
  • Probability
  • Real Analysis

Papers not related to the listed fields of interest may still be submitted, especially if they are readable by a mathematician who is not an expert in the specific subfield relevant to the paper. However, if our editors determine that they cannot properly judge the quality and relevance of the paper, it will be rejected.

Peer Review

This journal follows a single-blind review process, where the reviewer's identity is concealed from the author, while the author's identity is known to the reviewer. Once an initial submission is deemed suitable for publication, it will be peer-reviewed by a minimum of one expert from relevant areas. These reviewers are chosen by AJGM’s editor and matched to the manuscript for review based on their research interests. Following the referee’s report, the AJGM’s editor determines to accept, reject, or request revision for the resubmission.

To avoid conflicts of interest, our editors are excluded from the decision process for papers written by themselves, family members, or colleagues, or for papers related to products or services in which they have an interest.
