Author Biography

Dana Gliserman Kopans is a professor in the department of Literature, Communication, and Cultural Studies at SUNY Empire State University. She specializes in the literature and culture of eighteenth-century Britain. She formerly served as Associate Editor of The Burney Journal.

Abstract

This short essay introduces a Concise Collection special issue on teaching Frances Burney. The collection brings together a range of texts and approaches to them and demonstrates that Burney can be successfully taught to students outside of the graduate context.
