Abstract
In order to improve the knowledge of the little known species of Venezuela and confi rm the presence of boundary species that were thought to be present in the country, a visit was made to the Páramo de Tamá region, El Tamá National Park, Táchira state, between September 26 and October 01, 2019. The exploration was carried out walking along the trails in the mountain between 2,300–3,450 m asl. On September 28, two bird species not previously reported for the country were recorded and photographed: Ochthoeca frontalis (Tyrannidae) and Buthraupis wetmorei (Thraupidae). These records represent an extension in the distribution area of both species and increase the avian diversity knowledge in Venezuela.
