Abstract

The Cayene Jay Cyanocorax cayanus is distributed in the Neotropical region throughout Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana, and Brazil. In Venezuela, the species has been previous ly reported only in Bolívar and Delta Amacuro states. This note describes the fi rst sighting of an individual in an urban area located in the northern range of the country (se Caracas), during March, April, and July 2016.
