Occurrence of the American Scaup Duck in Los Angeles Co, California

In a bunch of ducks sent me by ex-Governor Markham and shot by him at Bixby, Cal., Dec. 20, 1899, I find a male American Scaup Duck (Aythya marila nearctica). This is a new record for Los Angeles Co., and an addition to Mr. Grinnell's list.
