Description

Automation has a great impact in our everyday life and making our life easy. Day by day the number of vehicles passing over the road is increasing due to which traffic jam; wastage of human effort is taking places. And our existing manual toll collection system of Bangladesh can’t handle this with limited amount of time. So, we propose an experimental approach of running a system 24 hours a day without interruption concerned with fully automated toll collection system using active RFID tags which is able to reduce human effort and time and most importantly traffic jam. In this system when a vehicle enters into the toll plaza, system electronically identifies the vehicle, calculate the exact amount of toll, deduce toll. Every information of vehicles is saved in a centralized database controlled by the authority which is mapped with a prepaid smartcard cum license card. There is a recharge booth for recharging account if the balance is insufficient. There is also a website by which authority can check the daily or monthly collected toll for each plaza, time of arrival, departure of a vehicle and announce a vehicle illegal. An android application that will inform the owner of the vehicle about how many toll plazas will be in his route, how much amount is needed to pass them, position of recharge booth and balance of his account.
