Abstract
Built in 1979, this house offers continuous horizontal bands of vertical wood-siding that sweep along and curve in semi-circles for eaves, balconies or balcony-plus-eave. The windows, which are narrow slots on the ground-floor streetside, open to window-walls on the garden side. In Miesian fashion, one of the horizontal lines is continued in the fence. All this horizontality is stopped and rooted to the ground by the cylinder of the stair-tower, which continues above the roof and is glassed on the garden side. Inside, a rectangular, double-story living room is open on its narrow sides to other first and second story rooms, and one of its longer sides has a balcony-bridge connecting the upstairs rooms. Thus, most of the interior space flows continuously throughout. This is the entrance. Title supplied by cataloger. Description supplied by Sape A. Zylstra.
