Abstract

This church, built in 1985 and located in the Carrollwood Village area, has referential (symbolic), structural, and functional aspects that are all interrelated: The great exposed trusses flank the entrances, move up along the cut-away corners, are expressed on the outside by changes in the roof levels, and culminate at the "clearstory" windows which mimic the entrances and are arranged cross-wise. A choir loft and balconies are cantilevered along three sides. This is a church building in Tampa worth its architectural salt. The interior is seen, looking towards the rear. Title supplied by cataloger. Description supplied by Sape A. Zylstra.
