Abstract

This document explains the work done by a Lake Forest College intern at the Monteverde Institute, Costa Rica. The internship consisted of creating interpretive materials for the Rachel and Dwight Crandell Memorial Reserve. In this document you can find the process that was carried out to achieve the purpose of the internship. Some of the results that were achieved were the creation of signaling signs, a small construction at the main entrance of the Reserve and some maps of the Reserve. With the help of the internship supervisor and some members of the Monteverde Institute, these projects were able to be carried out over the course of five weeks. In this document you can also find the benefits of this internship and some suggestions to know how to continue maintaining and improving some of the projects carried out in the internship.

Resumen

Este documento explica el trabajo realizado por una pasante de Lake Forest College en el Instituto Monteverde, Costa Rica. La pasantía consistía en la creación de materiales interpretativos para la reserva Rachel and Dwight Crandell Memorial Reserve. En este documento se puede encontrar el proceso que se llevó para poder lograr el propósito de la pasantía. Algunos de los resultados que se lograron fueron la creación de rótulos de señalización, una pequeña construcción en la entrada principal de la Reserva y algunos mapas de la Reserva. Con ayuda del supervisor de la pasantía y algunos miembros del Instituto Monteverde, estos proyectos se pudieron llevar a cabo en un transcurso de cinco semanas. En este documento también se pueden encontrar los beneficios de esta pasantía y algunas sugerencias para saber cómo seguir manteniendo y mejorando algunos de los proyectos realizados en la pasantía.
