Avian Diversity and Abundance Along a Gradient of Bayou Development in Houston

Abstract

Eighteen surveys recorded aquatic bird species at three Houston bayou transects with differing channelization. Most diversity and abundance occurred at the most channelized site, Brays Bayou. Only one species was shared across sites. Results reflect habitat differences more than weather effects.
