Abstract
Red-crowned Parrots (Amazona viridigenalis) have been observed in urban and rural (native vegetation) areas of the Lower Rio Grande Valley, Texas. Observations are concentrated in the cool season of the year. Birds are believed to consist of freely-dispersing wild birds from northeastern Mexico. Human disturbances (agricultural activities) of the natural habitat in northeastern Mexico are probably associated with the movement of these parrots.
