The mission of the USF St. Petersburg Staff Council is to establish a unified body which will sustain effective communications between Staff employees and the Regional Chancellor, represent our collective needs, and optimize the university working environment. The Council will collaborate with internal and external resources to advance and support the USFSP mission. Documents created prior to mid-2007 refer to this body as the University Support and Personnel Services (USPS) Council. This designation was used by all of Florida's public universities during the time when such institutions reported to the now-defunct Florida Board of Regents. At USF St. Petersburg, positions classified as USPS became staff positions in 2007.
