Abstract

Photograph of scientific researchers inside the Hydrolab, an underwater laboratory located on the seafloor which allowed scientists to live and work underwater for extended periods of time. Pictured in the foreground are, from left to right, Dr. John C. Ogden and Nancy Ogden, both of the West Indies Laboratory, who are writing and having a conversation. In this interior photograph of Hydrolab there are kitchen dishes, radios, and other equipment shown. At the time of the photograph, Hydrolab was located at a depth of approximately 50 feet in Salt River submarine canyon, St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands.
