The Iron Dome for America, now referred to as the Golden Dome, is a proposed concept for a $175 billion, multi-layered shield intended to protect the U.S. from advanced missile threats, including ballistic, hypersonic, and cruise missiles. Announced by President Donald Trump in early 2025, the system is envisioned as a technological leap forward, drawing on space-based sensors, interceptors, and artificial intelligence to create a continental-scale missile defense system.
