The Sanatorio del Centro Español (Centro Español Hospital) opened in 1906 on Bayshore Boulevard to provide medical services to members of the mutual aid society. The hospital left the building in 1970 when it moved to 4801 N. Howard Ave. The building was razed in 1973. In 2025, the site is the Ritz-Carlton Residences.
