ABOUT THE COLLECTION
The Gandy Commercial and Aerial Photography collection documents the history of Tampa Bay from the 1950s to the 2010s through the lenses of Skip Gandy and his father, Sandy Gandy. Skip Gandy's innovative aerial photography allows us to see urban and natural settings of the Tampa Bay region, illustrating the intersections between growing communities, businesses, and the rapid changes to the region's ecosystem.
In 2023, USF Libraries held a fundraiser to digitize more than 125,000 negatives, slides, and prints. Items not curated for online publication will be available for research in the USF Libraries Reading Room. The digital collection is divided into categories to facilitate browsing.
Only a small sample of this robust collection is available online.
