Abstract
Baby Talk is an event hosted by COQEBS (Concerned Organization for the Quality Education for Black Students) designed to improve early childhood education. In March 2013 they hosted a school readiness workshop as part of their efforts. In this video clip hosted on the JWBPinellas YouTube channel, Eddie Burch, Communications & Outreach Coordinator of the Juvenile Welfare Board of Pinellas County, provided background information and highlights of the School Readiness Workshop offered by COQEBS. Dr. James McHale, Professor of Psychology at USF St. Petersburg, discussed the concept of “floor time†to improve learning skills in children.
