Abstract
In the eighth installment of this oral history, Cliff Gibbons outlines his father, Sam Gibbons' involvement in U.S. trade policy negotiations in Southeast Asia during the Reagan administration. He discusses the challenges leading up to significant trade agreements, including the Trade Act of 1979, the Andean Trade Preferences Act, NAFTA, and the Trade Act of 1984.
