Abstract
An event poster for Grand Ma’s Hands: One Hundred Years of African American Quilting, an exhibition held from December 26, 2004, to February 13, 2005, marking the grand opening of The Studio@620. The exhibition featured quilts dating from 1880 to 1970, including pieces from Gee’s Bend and the Kingdom of Kuba. Some of the exhibition pieces showcased traditional Gullah art and culture. The event was part of the City of St. Petersburg’s First Night Celebration, with a performance by the Hallelujah Singers from Beaufort, South Carolina on December 31. The program included quilting demonstrations, lectures, gospel brunches, theatrical presentations, and contemporary paintings.
